Occupational lenses are used to provide what are basically progressive reading glasses.
Because the lenses are progressive, they provide a much greater depth of field than single-vision reading
glasses, enabling the wearer to both read and see clearly across the room. Occupational lenses provide a
large reading area that degresses upwards to provide clear vision in the upper part of the lens for
distances of up to 4 metres, depending on the lens design and the prescription.
Shamir Office™A traditionally surfaced general-purpose occupational lens providing clear vision from the
printed page out to as much as 4 metres.
Smart Office Freeform A general-purpose occupational lens offering exceptionally clear vision within the
working environment, extending up to around 4 metres.
Computer A specialist occupational lens optimised for heavy users of computer screens. The Computer
provides a shallower depth of field that centres on the screen and extends to around 1½ metres. A
specialist occupational lens for heavy users of computer screens who also need clear vision across the
room. The WorkSpace provides clear vision up to around 3 metres, a greater depth of field than the
Computer but less than the Office or Smart Office.
